Couples Counselling at Very Helpful Chats
Relationship Support That Works With Your Brain
ND-Affirming | LGBTQIA+ Inclusive | Telehealth | Australia-Wide
Not Your Average Couples Counselling
Relationships can be hard work — especially when neurodivergence, chronic health conditions, burnout, sensory needs, or different communication styles are involved. At Very Helpful Chats, we offer couples counselling that makes space for how your brains actually work — not how someone thinks they should.
You won't get worksheets and assumptions here. You'll get understanding, flexibility, and space to figure out how to be in relationship with each other in ways that work for you.
Meet Your Couples Counsellor: Yvonne
Yvonne (she/they) is a Senior Psychologist who brings warmth, insight, and humour to the work of couples counselling.
Yvonne is:
-
Neurodivergent
-
LGBTQIA+
-
A parent
-
A Spoonie
Yvonne believes that you are the expert on your own experience — and she's here to help you find the language, patterns and tools to navigate your relationship with more clarity and less exhaustion.
Yvonne says:
"Knowing how your brain works is like the keys to Disneyland. Once you know your brain, the world will be your playground."
In couples counselling sessions, Yvonne helps you explore:
-
Why you keep missing each other (and how to reconnect)
-
How masking, shutdowns, PDA or sensory needs show up in your relationship
-
What support actually feels supportive
-
How to communicate without going into overwhelm
